Suniel Shetty to reunite with his Hera Pheri co-star Akshay Kumar for Welcome 3?

If reports are to be believed, actor Suniel Shetty is all set to make a comeback to comedy. Reportedly, the Herapheri actor has been roped in to be a part of Welcome to The Jungle -- the upcoming addition to the Welcome franchise. Welcome to The Jungle also stars Arshad Warsi and Disha Patani.

Earlier, the makers of Welcome and Welcome Back had announced the release date for the newest addition to their franchise. The film titled ‘Welcome to The Jungle’ is now slated to release on Christmas 2024.

Welcome, the first film in the franchise, achieved commercial success at its release, and went on to attain a cult following in the years to come through many of its scenes that inspired countless memes. The film’s sequel Welcome Back had John Abraham and Shruti Hassan replacing Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif as the lead couple. Welcome Back released in 2015, 8 years after the Akshay-Katrina starrer Welcome. 

Who’s saying what?

According to recent reports by Pinkvilla, actor Suniel Shetty is now part of the film’s cast as well. It is a comic role, and a new addition to the franchise. Reportedly, the team also locked some of the shooting locations, and the film will soon be on the floors.

Suniel Shetty and Akshay Kumar have worked together in many films. When Akshay Kumar found success as a comedic actor in the early 2000s, the two shared screens in films like Hera Pheri, Awara Paagal Deewana, Deewane Hue Pagal, and De Dana Dan among others.

Meanwhile...

Munna Bhai MBBS Actors Arshad Warsi and Sanjay Dutt are confirmed to be part of Welcome to the Jungle. Disha Patani too is reportedly a part of the film’s cast.  Welcome to the Jungle is being directed by choreographer-turned-director Ahmed Khan who had last directed Tiger Shroff starrer Heropanti 2. The film's producer Feroze Nadiadwala had also produced both the earlier installments of the Welcome franchise.
