Bollywood actor Susmita Sen celebrates her 44th birthday today. The Biwi No.1 actor achieved national recognition after winning the coveted Miss Universe crown in the year 1994. After that, she made her Bollywood debut and worked in films of various genres. Susmita is well-known for her gorgeous looks and her underrated acting skills. The 1999 family comedy Biwi No.1 was directed by David Dhawan. It starred Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Tabu and Sushmita Sen in lead roles. The film's popular soundtrack was composed by Anu Malik and consisted of hits such as Chunari Chunari, Hai Hai Mirchi, Mehboob Mere, Jungle Hai Aadhi Raat among others. But one of the most popular and iconic songs from the film is Ishq Sona Hai. Picturised on Salman and Sushmita in the city of Miami, the song is sung by Shankar Mahadevan and Hema Sardesai. It is popular to this day for its quirky lyrics and the chemistry between Salman Khan and Sushmita Sen.
2. Shakalaka Baby
The 2001 Hindi film, Nayak, was directed by S.Shankar and a remake of his 1999 Tamil film, Mudhalvan. The film starred Anil Kapoor and Rani Mukerji in the lead roles, with Amrish Puri playing the prime antagonist. A.R.Rahman composed the film's soundtrack, and he even composed the Tamil film's soundtrack. One of the most popular songs is Shakalaka Baby. A recreation of the Tamil version, this version was sung by Vasundhara Das and picturised on Sushmita Sen, who also featured in the Tamil version.
3. Laga Laga Re
Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya is a 2005 romantic comedy directed by David Dhawan. The film was based on the 1969 Hollywood film, Cactus Flower, and starred Salman Khan, Sushmita Sen and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. Himesh Reshammiya composed the soundtrack of the film, and one of the most popular songs was Laga Laga Re. Sung by Kamaal Khan and Alka Yagnik, the song was picturised on Salman Khan and Sushmita Sen, and the actor looked gorgeous in the orange saree.
