The Sky is Pink will be releasing in India on October 11, 2019. The movie will star actors, Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar. It has been directed by Shonali Bose whose previous works include movies such as Chittagong and Margarita with a Straw. The movie will be biographical, based on real accounts of a survivor of Pulmonary Fibrosis, a fatal lung disease. The trailer of the movie was recently shared online on September 10, 2019.

The first thing that the trailer reveals to us is that the movie is a narration from Aisha Chaudhary's ( the daughter of the two main characters) point of view. Aisha suffers from Pulmonary Fibrosis. The trailer depicts the tale of a family trying to save their daughter after they learn about her condition and the struggles that entail because of this. The story is based on the real-life of Aisha Chaudhary, who is a motivational speaker for Pulmonary Fibrosis Victims, and what her parents went through to save her life.

The trailer shows how the two parents of Aisha, Aditi and Niren Chaudhry, meet and fall in love. We then see a few snippets of their life as a couple living together. Later, we are introduced to the children of the couple, their daughter Aisha and a son. Aisha is diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis which causes great distress for the family. She is giving her narration throughout the trailer and also states that she thinks of herself as the villain in her parent’s love story, as her disease is causing them to drift apart due to the stress.

The film promises to be a realistic and tragic family drama. Priyanka Chopra will play the role of the mother Aditi while Farhan Akhtar will play the father, Niren Chaudhry. Their love story through the perspective of their daughter will be the central theme of the story. Rohit Suresh Saraf will play the role of Aisha’s brother Ishaan Chaudhary. Priyanka Chopra is also a producer for the movie. The film’s production was helmed by RSVP Movies, Roy Kapur Films, Purple Pebble Pictures and Ivanhoe Pictures.
