In an interview, Rohit revealed that he was holidaying in Himachal Pradesh with his family when got a call about the film’s audition. He said that he just got a call for a look test and had no idea whether he got the part or not. When he went, he saw a large set and several vanity vans. Priyanka, Farhan, and Zaira walked in and all of them were sent in front of the camera for the test. The session went for hours and while he was leaving, he was informed that he would play Ishaan.

Rohit added that he feels connected with the script on a personal level. This is because the film deals with the loss of a close family member and he lost his father when he was 11. He said that during the filming, he realised that he had more to deal with regarding death. The film gave him the closure of death, which he never thought he would need.

Rohit mentioned that PeeCee helped him prep for an emotional scene shot in London. He said that Priyanka told him to be himself, be confident, and that he got the part because he is talented. Her speech boosted his morale and changed his approach to the scene. On his co-star Zaira quitting the film industry, he said that he did not see that coming. He opined she is intelligent enough to know her priorities and she has the right to choose what she wants.
