Actors Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming movie, The Sky Is Pink, was screened at the 44th Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month. It received a massive four-minute standing ovation. The Sky Is Pink is now all set to play in the Indian screens. From the looks of its trailer, it seems that it is going to be a roller coaster ride for the audience.
The Sky Is Pink marks the comeback of Priyanka Chopra to Bollywood after a three-year-long hiatus. The film will also be Margarita With A Straw director Shonali Bose’s second venture. The Sky Is Pink also stars Farhan Akhtar opposite Priyanka. Actors Zaira Wasim of Dangal fame and Rohit Suresh Saraf will play the role of Priyanka and Farhan’s children.
About the plot
The Sky Is Pink is based on the love story of Aditi Chaudhary and Niren Chaudhary spanning 25 years. The story is narrated by their daughter Aisha Chaudhary who is diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis which is a respiratory disease. The film talks about how parents cope up with the loss of their child.
Who is the real Aisha Chaudhary?
The Sky Is Pink is based on the true story of Aisha Chaudhary who was a motivational speaker and author of the book, My Little Epiphanies. Aisha was born with an immune deficiency disorder. Due to this, she had to go through a bone marrow transplant when she was just six months old. The surgery backfired with Aisha developing another condition called pulmonary fibrosis. This is a serious illness that causes the hardening of the lungs. Aisha Chaudhary passed away on January 24, 2015. Aisha was a TedX speaker.
The trailer of The Sky Is Pink received a thumbs up from netizens. With Shonali Bose as the director of the film, the anticipation level for the film is sky-high. The National Award-winning director has previously received critical acclaims for her films, Margarita With A Straw and Amu.
