Adarsh Gourav has been basking in the success of his recently released movie Superboys of Malegaon. The actor made his acting debut with My Name Is Khan (2010) and has come a long way in Hindi cinema. Seeing the acting skills of Adarsh, he has been offered a movie from South Indian cinema. The actor is all set to make his Telugu debut spearheaded by producer DVV Danayya's daughter Jahnavi. The actor is excited to lead the project and said South Cinema has consistently delivered “some of the most compelling and innovative films.”
Speaking to IANS, Adarsh shared his excitement to work in the regional film industry and said that he always believed that great stories transcend language, and as an actor, his biggest thrill was to explore diverse narratives across industries. "The South film industry has consistently delivered some of the most compelling and innovative films, and I’m excited to finally be a part of it," he added.
The untitled project will be a psychological horror and be helmed by Baba Shashank. The movie is scheduled to release later this year.
"This project, in particular, is unlike anything I’ve never done Psychological horror genre and it has a gripping story that immediately drew me in. Collaborating with a visionary team and making my Telugu debut with Jahnavi's production is truly special. I can't wait for audiences to see what we’re creating," Adarsh shared.
Adarsh left a significant mark in the Hindi film industry with his performance in My Name Is Khan. He then went on to star in star in several movies and web shows, including Mom, Madly and Hostel Daze. However, in 2021, he gained international recognition for playing chauffeur Balram Halwai in Priyanka Chopra and Rajkummar Rao starrer The White Tiger. His performance earned him nominations for the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
