Tripti Dimri on awkwardness with Animal co-star Rashmika Mandanna: When there are two heroines...
Despite holding a rather brief role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal, the film has put Tripti Dimri in the spotlight who has been dubbed the new national crush.
Tripti Dimri's role in Animal has been gaining a lot of traction for the impact the actress managed to make with her limited but pivotal screen time. However, rumours had been doing the rounds on the internet suggesting all was not well between the Bulbbul actress and Animal female lead, Rashmika Mandanna. Dimri has now dispelled these rumours with her latest interview.
Tripti Dimri says there is no awkwardness between her and Rashmika Mandanna
In an interview with Puja Talwar, Tripti Dimri opened up about her equation with Animal co-star Rashmika Mandanna. While the two had no scenes together in the film, it must be noted that while Mandanna plays the role of Ranbir Kapoor's wife Geetanjali in the film, Kapoor's Rannvijay Singh has a brief affair with Tripti Dimri's Zoya. Tripti acknowledged that while it is common for two heroines to have an awkward energy between them when starring in the same film, so was definitely not the case with her and Rashmika.
She said, "She is the sweetest, sweetest person on set. She made me feel welcomed and there was no awkwardness. Usually, when there are two heroines in the film, there is always that energy...There was nothing, she was just so brilliant. She came to me and she gave me a hug and she was like come sit with us. She could also see that I was awkward a little, but she just made me feel welcomed. I think that is such a beautiful quality to have."
Animal has become Ranbir Kapoor's highest-ever grosser
Animal released in theatres on December 1 in a box office clash with the Vicky Kaushal led Sam Bahadur. Within just a week, the film has surpassed Kapoor's other highest grossers, namely Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva and Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju.
As per a report by leading film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Animal has grossed ₹338.63 crores within a week since release - a figure which continues to grow.
