Ulajh Box Office Collection Day 2: Janhvi Kapoor Starrer Struggles, Earns ₹2.85 Crore

Janhvi Kapoor starrer Ulajh had a poor start at the domestic box office. The movie, which focuses on a young IFS officer who gets embroiled in a personal conspiracy, is earning mixed reviews from the critics and audience. But the only thing common in their reviews is Janhvi and Gulshan Devaiah's performance. It was expected that over the weekend, we might see a spike in the collection, but nothing of such happened.

Helmed by Sudhanshu Saria, the spy thriller earned ₹1.70 crore, according to early estimates reported by Sacnilk. Adding the two-day collection, the movie's total stands at ₹2.85 crore. Ulajh had an overall 19.11 per cent Hindi occupancy on Saturday with the maximum reported in Chennai (47.67 per cent).

Ulajh vs Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha

The movie has suffered the impact of a box office clash with Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha. Despite having a stellar star cast the movie had a low opening and even on the second day it hasn't earned as expected. However, in comparison to Ulajh, it performed well on Saturday by earning ₹2.15 crore, early estimates reported by Sacnilk. The two-day total stands at ₹4 crore.

However, what's interesting is both the movies are competing with the Hollywood superhero flick Deadpool and Wolverine which was released in theatres last week and is still running successfully on its second weekend. On its second Friday, Deadpool and Wolverine minted ₹4.25 crore, which was more than if we combined the earnings of Ulajh and Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha.

Apart from Janhvi and Gulshan, the movie also stars Roshan Mathew, Adil Hussain, Meiyang Chang and Rajesh Tailang in pivotal roles.
