Times when Varun Dhawan reminded fans of Govinda
His look from Coolie no.1
Varun Dhawan recently shared a poster for his next, Coolie no.1. The film is a remake of Govinda’s film of the same name. It also stars Sara Ali Khan in the lead role. Looking at the poster, Varun Dhawan seems to have quite a resemblance with Govinda from the film.
His Dancing style
Fans cannot seem to ignore the fact that Varun Dhawan resembles Govinda. The actor appears to even shake a leg like the Hero No.1 actor. People believe that this resemblance may be due to the fact that Varun Dhawan has observed Govinda since a young age as he used to accompany David Dhawan on film shoots.
These series of resemblances also lead to a bitter statement coming from Govinda’s himself. In an interview, the actor questioned Varun Dhawan's comparison with himself claiming that to make a comparison, Varun needs to be innocent, uneducated and a poor village boy, which he seemingly isn't, being born as the son of a film director. He further added that in recent years, Varun has only done two films with his father, while Govinda did seventeen films with David Dhawan.
Responding to this in another interview, Varun Dhawan said that Govinda is a senior actor and he respects him. He also added that he could never match up to Govinda and that two people can never be the same.
