Varun Mitra is currently preparing for his role in the recently released film Rakshak- India’s Braves. The actor essays the role of Lieutenant Triveni Singh in the film. Varun will be seen next in the Kangana Ranaut starrer Tejas. In a new interview, the actor spilled details about his role in the upcoming film.

Varun Mitra to play the role of a musician in Tejas 

In an interview with Free Press Journal, Varun Mitra spilled beans on his upcoming film Tejas. The movie is a biographical drama based on the life of an Air Force pilot, Tejas Gill. However, Varun says he does not play a pilot but a musician in the film.

Varun said, “In Tejas, I am playing a musician and not a pilot. Kangana Ranaut is playing an Air Force pilot.” He also shared details about his character entry in the film and what to expect from it. He added, “It’s an Arijit Singh song where I am introduced in the film. My character is in a different space completely.”

Varun Mitra got his big Bollywood break with the 2018 film Jalebi. Though the actor’s performance in the film was appreciated, the film failed to perform well at the box office. Addressing the same, the actor opined that with the increase in streaming platforms, the pressures of the box office have reduced. He said, “The advantage of the digital platforms is that there is no Friday box office pressure. It is a nightmare. I remember the night before the release, I was so nervous. I felt so heartbroken when it (Jalebi) didn’t do well.”
