Hrithik Roshan is on a roll this year. With his recent release Super 30 working wonders at the box-office, the actor has managed to shatter the image of the 'quintessential Bollywood hero'. Hrithik Roshan will be next seen in his upcoming action-drama War, along with Tiger Shroff.  War is one of the most anticipated action entertainers of 2019. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the movie also stars Vaani Kapoor in a prominent role.

Why War could have been scrapped?

The director of War, Siddharth Anand shared in a daily that he would not have gone ahead with the film without Tiger Shroff. Siddharth expressed that he had been writing a script for Hrithik Roshan, post the success of their film Bang Bang. The director of the film added that he could not think of anyone better than Tiger Shroff to pitch against Hrithik Roshan in the movie. As the actors have many skills in similarity, it would have been easier for him to pair Hrithik and Tiger together. Siddharth Anand remarked that Tiger is irreplaceable, as the actor can pull off difficult stunt-sequences with ease. He also appreciated the actor's dedication towards his craft. The director confessed that if Tiger had said no to the project, he would have dissolved the idea of the film.

The Director's word on the story

The much-anticipated action-drama chronicles the story of a soldier, who goes against the nation’s interests. Tiger Shroff will be seen essaying the character Khalid, who is deployed to eliminate his mentor, Kabir as he has chosen the wrong path. The movie will be a treat for the action-lovers, as the makers of the film promise to deliver some jaw-dropping stunt sequences with an unusual story. As the film is about the relationship of a mentor and his protégé, the director could not think of a better pair than that of Hrithik and Tiger. Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's respect for each other is known to all. The duo share a cordial relationship.

War will mark Hrithik’s first action-drama flick after Krrish 3. Hrithik Roshan will be next seen in the super-hero entertainer Krrish 4, alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Tiger Shroff will star next opposite Shraddha Kapoor in Baaghi 3. Produced by Aditya Chopra, War is gearing up for its release on October 2, 2019.
