Its that day of the year again where the environment is revered and is vowed to be protected by millions across the world. This year the theme of World Environment Day is 'Beat Air Pollution'. Along with thousands of people across the world, several Bollywood actors and musicians have also joined hands to fight for the cause.

Akshay Kumar on Wednesday, June 5, unveiled a music video titled 'Hawa Aane De' that has been put in place to strengthen the fight against Air pollution. He shared the track on Twitter which featured celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Shaan, Rajkummar Rao, Vicky Kaushal, Shiamak Davar among others. With gripping visuals, peppy beats and catchy lyrics, the song is definitely a significant move to raise awareness about Air pollution.

"Air Pollution is a silent killer claiming millions of lives every year. On #WorldEnvironmentDay lets all come together and pledge to do our bit to improve the quality of air. #HawaAaneDe" Akshay captioned the post saying.

Watch the music video here:

Approximately 7 million people worldwide die prematurely each year from air pollution, with about 4 million of these deaths occurring in the Asia-Pacific. World Environment Day 2019 will urge governments, industry, communities, and individuals to come together to explore renewable energy and green technologies and improve air quality in cities and regions across the world.

China is the host country for 2019 and the focus on the host country helps highlight the environmental challenges faced by them in addition to supporting worldwide efforts to address the issues.

Singing along, India spreads the message in a unique way:

"Thodi hawa aane de, Tazi hawa aane de...Thodi hawa aane de, Tazi hawa aane de." is India's slogan for the occasion. Hawa Aane De — is the newest release by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for World Environment Day on 5 June. The Bhamla Foundation, an NGO working across many themes including health, child rehabilitation, woman empowerment & environment awareness, has collaborated with the Ministry on the song which propagates tips to reduce air pollution for the future generation.
