Sharda Sinha has been suffering from multiple myeloma since 2017. Recently, her health deteriorated owing to which she has been put on oxygen support, according to an AIIMS official. She is one of the popular folk singers, who has also sung in several hit Bollywood movies.Who is Sharda Sinha?The 72-year-old singer hails from Bihar and predominantly sings in Maithili and Bhojpuri, language. She started her career by singing folk songs and later spread her wings in the Hindi cinema. She regularly performs during Chhath Puja festivities.Sinha also sang the song Kahe Toh Se Sajna in the hit Bollywood movie Maine Pyar Kia (1989), Taar Bijli from the film Gangs of Wasseypur Part 2 and Kaun Si Nagaria from the Bollywood film Chaarfutiya Chhokare.Honouring her contributions to music, in 1991, she was awarded the Padma Shri.
