Actor Armie Hammer, who was at the center of a sexual abuse scandal in 2021, recently discussed the aftermath and addressed cannibalism allegations for the first time. Speaking on the Painful Lessons podcast, Hammer expressed disbelief over the cannibalism rumours.

Hammer found the claims so absurd that he laughed them off as hilarious. "People called me a cannibal, and everyone believed them," he said. "They're like, ‘Yep, that guy ate people.' What are you talking about? Do you know what you have to do to be a cannibal? You have to eat people! How am I going to be a cannibal?! It was bizarre," he added.

In 2021, Hammer faced accusations of sexual abuse from multiple women, alongside leaked messages that allegedly detailed his cannibalistic fantasies and other fetishes. Following these allegations, he was dropped from several projects and his talent agency.

Reflecting on that tumultuous period, Hammer said, “I’m actually now at a place where I’m really grateful for it because where I was in my life before all of that stuff happened to me. It’s almost like a neutron bomb went off in my life. It killed me, it killed my ego, it killed all the people around me that I thought were my friends that weren’t — all of those people, in a flash, went away. But the buildings were still standing. I’m still here, I still have my health, and I’m really grateful for that.”

Despite acknowledging that Hollywood might not welcome him back, Hammer remains committed to his career in cinema. He revealed that he is currently collaborating on a script with a friend.
