Shweta Kumar made her debut in Bollywood with the film Karzzzz in 2008 starring Himesh Reshamiya. The film was a remake of Subhash Ghai's hit film Karz starring Rishi Kapoor, Premnath, Simi Garewal, Tina Munim, and Pran in prominent roles. However, the remake featured  Himesh Reshammiya and Urmila Matondkar in lead roles. The film failed at the box office and Indra Kumar decided to roll out a sequel to his 90s classic film titled Dil starring Aamir Khan and Madhuri Dixit. Nevertheless, the film did not materialise and Shweta took a break from films.

After the massve success of Dil, he went on to direct films like Beta in 1992, Raja in 1995, and Ishq in 1997. All of these films were one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of the time. He has also directed some comedy films like Dhamal and sequels including Double Dhamaal (2011), Grand Masti (2013) and Total Dhamaal (2019). His real name is Indra Irani and he latest film produced is Thank God in 2022.
