Kubra Aykut, Turkish TikTok Star Who Married Herself, Dies By Suicide At 26

Kubra Aykut, a TikTok star, who shot to fame after marrying herself, has died by suicide on September 23 in Istanbul. According to Turkish reports, the 26-year-old fell from the fifth floor of a luxury apartment in Sultanbeyli district. Authorities are currently investigating the case and her suicide note, per Turkiye Today.

What did Kubra Aykut's suicide note say?

As per Turkiye Today, Kubra's suicide note read, "I jumped of my own free will. Because I don’t want to live anymore. Take good care of Fistik. I was good to everyone in my life, but I couldn’t be good to myself. Living as a good person gave me nothing. In this life, be selfish. That way, you will be happy. I’ve been struggling for days, but no one noticed. I’m leaving because I love myself and want to think about myself for once. I’m sorry. Kubra Aykut."  Fistik is believed to be her pet.

Hours before her death, Kubra dropped a message on her social media handle that reads, "I’ve gathered my energy, but I can’t seem to gain weight. Today I saw that I dropped to 44 kilograms. I lose a kilogram every day. I don’t know what to do; I urgently need to gain weight."

Kubra enjoys around one million followers on TikTok and over 200,000 followers on Instagram. She shot to fame after she married herself in 2023. She shared a video titled Wedding without a Groom and featured her in a white gown with tiara. She proclaimed, "I cannot find a worthy groom for myself".
