Rohit Bal's Funeral: Renowned fashion designer Rohit Bal passed away at 63. His work included Indian and modern styles. He began his career in 1986.
Rohit Bal, the renowned Indian fashion designer, died at the age of 63 after a year-long battle with a heart condition. Friends and admirers of Bal gathered alongside his family to pay their final respects to the designer who played a pivotal role in bringing Indian fashion to the global stage. He died on Friday night at a South Delhi hospital following a heart attack at the age of 63. He was cremated at the Lodhi Road crematorium here on Saturday.

A video has been shared by Viral Bhayani on their Instagram handle in which Rohit Bal’s funeral procession has begun. Netizens took to the comment section to pay their tribute to him. One user wrote, “When I was a student of fashion design I made project on him rip”. “God bless his soul”, wrote the second user. The third user wrote, “Condolences, Rest in peace”.
His funeral was attended by Sunil Sethi, the president of Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), actor-model Arjun Rampal, designers JJ Valaya, Varun Bahl and Rohit Gandhi. The designer's mortal remains were kept at his Defence Colony residence, where many prominent personalities paid their last respects.

Rohit Bal came from a Kashmiri Hindu family. He began his career by founding Orchid Oversea Pvt Ltd in 1986. Bal received his education from Woodlands House School and Burn Hall School in Srinagar. Rohit Bal has a brother, and two sisters. Very little is known about his mother. As per reports, his family was forced was move out of the Kashmir valley in the 1970s. His family moved to the National Captial and he continued his education at the Delhi University
Rohit Bal is best known for having lotus and peacock motifs. He frequently employed rich fabrics like velvet, brocade and his designs were elaborate and inspired by Indian grandeur and royalty. Apart from Bollywood celebrities, he also had a International client base that includes Cindy Crawford, Pamela Anderson and Uma Thurman.
Rohit Bal passed died on November 1 at South Delhi hospital following a heat attack. He had recently presented his latest collection at then Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI 2024 grand finale, which had marked his runway comeback 10 months after his illness.
