Sunny Deol is riding high on the success of his last outing Gadar 2. The action film saw the actor in an angry and violent avatar. In a recent interview, he recalled the time in his real life when he used to be ready for any kind of violent altercation. In the interview, he recalled getting into random fights and carrying weapons in a car as he used to often get into street fights.

Sunny Deol talks about gangs
In an interview with Mashable India, the Gadar 2 actor took a tour of the familiar routes in Mumbai. During the interview, he looked back at his youth when he used to get into street racing with strangers. He added, “I’ve been in a lot of fights.” He also mentioned, “We used to carry swords, metal rods, hockey sticks in our cars. This was back in the day, there used to be gangs; times are different now.”

Sunny Deol also mentioned that he used to hide his mischievous activities from his father, veteran actor Dharmendra, and his mother used to come to his rescue if he ran into trouble. He added, “We used to provoke strangers into racing us. That’s the life we’ve lived. Guys would fight over girls... And then I had to hide it from my parents, especially my father. My mother would handle these situations when they got out of hand.”

In the same interview, the actor recalled getting into fights often. “I’ve had fights everywhere. At an India-New Zealand match at Brabourne Stadium, I was with my friends. Some people found out that I was Dharmendra’s son, then they started ragging me. Then they started throwing cigarette butts at me. I lost my mind. I’m a sardar, after all. I started swinging, and I had no idea who I was hitting, I just kept beating people up,” he said.
