Cigarettes After Sex: Here is the new ambient pop album, 'Cry'

The band Cigarettes After Sex debuted their first studio album back in 2017. The ambient pop band has delivered some dream-like songs revolving around romance and love. The 2012 song, Nothing's Gonna Hurt You Baby became a sleeper hit and became very popular among pop music lovers. With the album Cry, Cigarettes After Sex have introduced their second studio album. The album features nine songs with a total length of 39 minutes. It has been released under the Partisan music label.

The Brooklyn-based band's frontman Greg Gonzalez has stated that he views this album like a film. The artist, while speaking to a news daily, stated that it is similar to a feature-length film, with each track being a part of a narrative. The music of the album was reportedly improvised on the spot. Lyrics for the tracks were written later and patched on to the music.

With Cry, the ambient pop band has evidently stayed true its root and created an album on similar lines to their first album. The songs in this album flow smoothly from one to another in a narrative blend. The artists of the album have stated that the album can be best enjoyed on headphones instead of a speaker-set.

Cigarettes After Sex sold over 550,000 copies of their debut album back in 2012. It has garnered over 350 million views on YouTube and 300 streams on Spotify. With their new album, Cigarettes After Sex will be doing a musical tour in Europe.
