Dastak Actress Rehana Sultan's Heart Surgery Delayed To Financial Crisis, Bollywood Celebs Intervene

National Film Award-winning actress Rehana Sultan recently had cardiac valve replacement surgery after facing serious breathing difficulties. She lives in Mumbai with her brother and has been struggling with a severe financial crisis, which delayed her treatment. However, several Bollywood celebrities have come together to support the 70s silver screen icon during this challenging time.

IFTDA (Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association) president Ashoke Pandit confirmed that filmmakers Rohit Shetty, Ramesh Taurani, and veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar have contributed funds to assist Rehana overcome her medical setback.

According to a post shared by Viral Bhayani, Pandit mentioned that Sultan had been in contact with him for some time and had not been well. She experienced a cardiac issue related to her heart valves and started feeling very unwell about three days ago. Her brother, Rishabh Sharma, informed Pandit that she was in a serious condition and needed to be admitted to a hospital. He also mentioned that financial difficulties were causing delays in her treatment.

Ashoke Pandit further informed that the hospital expedited Rehana Sultan's treatment thanks to IFTDA's intervention.

He also explained that he contacted Rohit Shetty, Ramesh Taurani, Javed Akhtar, Rajen Sahani, Sunil Bohra, Vipul Shah, and television producer Rajan Shahi, who immediately transferred funds to the hospital authorities for her treatment, after which, the Dastak actress' valve replacement surgery was performed yesterday. Although she is doing well, she remains in the ICU under observation for a few more days.
