Matthew Perry Death: The sudden death of the FRIENDS star left the world in shock. On October 28, 2023, the actor was found dead in the bathtub of his home. Initial reports suggested he died from an accidental ketamine overdose. Months later, reports emerged of multiple arrests connected to the case. In a recent development, the new owner of Matthew Perry’s Los Angeles home reportedly has a personal connection to India.

A Hindu owner bought Matthew Perry’s house

Anita Lallian, who recently purchased the house where the late Friends actor was found, shared that she performed a Hindu ceremony to honour his spirit and legacy upon moving in.

A real estate developer and film producer, Anita shared her reflections on buying the house in a recent Instagram post, expressing that she isn’t concerned about any stigma attached to it.

In her post, she included a photo of a pandit performing a blessing on the pool deck of Matthew's home, along with images showing the pool deck and the view from the house. In a previous interview, Anita also mentioned that her mother moved to the US from India at the age of 22.

She wrote, "As a real estate developer myself, I believe every property has a history that we may or may not know about, and every home carries the energy that the current owner brings to it. I am Hindu, and it’s customary to do a blessing and prayer anytime you buy a new home. We were so lucky to have our Panditji from Arizona come to the house to do the blessing.”

Hindu owner honoured Matthew Perry’s memory

While Anita said that she would make some aesthetic changes to the house, she has decided not to get rid of the Batman symbol.

"We chose to honour the positive aspects of the previous owner’s life, his immense talent, and all the joy he brought to so many people. The decision to purchase the home had nothing to do with the previous owner, just our love of the home. We do plan to keep some of the design elements. The Batman logo in the pool is staying,” she shared.

She concluded her post by saying, “It’s a piece of paradise that is filled with light and the perfect vacation home for us. Can’t wait to make new memories in it.”

According to People, the Los Angeles home where Matthew Perry passed away sold for $8.55 million. The property, located in L.A.'s Pacific Palisades neighbourhood, spans 3,500 square feet and includes four bedrooms and four full bathrooms, as reported by the New York Times.
