Knives Out will be getting its worldwide release on November 27. The movie has already been premiered in September during the Toronto International Film Festival. The movie is a modern and satirical take on the murder mystery genre. It features a stellar ensemble cast that includes Chris Evans in one of the lead roles. Chris is most known for his portrayal of Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). However, while most of the world knows him as the righteous Avenger, Chris has played several other interesting roles. Here are five of his best performances, excluding his MCU films. 

The Iceman

The Iceman was a 2012 biographical film that featured Chris in the role of Robert 'Mr. Freezy' Pronge. Chris' role was based on a real-life mob hitman named Robert "Mister Softee" Pronge, who was known to travel around in an ice cream truck. His role as the mob assassin is one of his most unique performances and showcases his versatility as an actor.

Gifted

Gifted was a 2017 drama film that starred Chris in the role of Frank, the uncle and guardian of a seven-year-old genius named Mary. The movie depicts the custody battle between Frank and his mother Lindsay Duncan. Frank believes that Mary deserves a normal childhood, while his mother believes that she is a one in a billion prodigy and should get the best education possible. Most people think of Chris as an action star, but his portrayal of Frank showed that he was capable of performing softer and more emotional roles.

Sunshine

Sunshine is a 2007 film that starred Cillian Murphy, Rose Byrne and Chris Evans in the lead roles. In the film, three astronauts are sent to the Sun to try and reverse the unexpected phenomenon which makes the star dim. Chris played one of the three astronauts. This movie released was before Chris starred as Captain America.  

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World was a 2010 action comedy based on the Scott Pilgrim graphic novel by Bryan Lee O'Malley. Chris played the role of Lucas Lee in the film. The movie has an absurd plot and was well-loved by critics and fans for its stylish direction and cinematography. Lucas Lee is one of the evil exes that Scott needs to defeat in order to date Ramona. 

Snowpiercer

Snowpiercer was a 2013 dystopian future sci-fi film that starred Chris Evans in the lead role. The movie takes place after an attempt to combat climate change through climate engineering backfires horribly, pushing Earth into a brutal ice age that extinguishes all lives. The only human survivors live on a massive train called Snowpiercer, which is constantly on the move. The denizens of the train are split into two groups, with the privileged passengers living in the front and the poorer passengers living in the tail end of the train. Chris plays the role of Curtis Everett, the leader of a rebellion that plans to break into the front of the train from the tail end. Snowpiercer is considered to be one of Chris' best performances after Captain America.
