Angelina Jolie on playing 'Maleficent': 'I was broken, it was tough'

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie's much-anticipated venture 'Maleficent: Mistress of Evil' is all set to hit the theaters on October 18.

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie's much-anticipated venture 'Maleficent: Mistress of Evil' is all set to hit the theaters on October 18. Ahead of the same, the actress during a recent media interaction opened up about the hardship she faced to reprise the role after years. The actress who had gone through a lot of in the past couple of years owing to her divorce from husband Brad Pitt said that it took her a moment to feel the strength of Maleficent again.

“It was a tough time, I’d been coming off a few years of difficulty, and I was not feeling very strong. In fact, I was feeling pretty broken. It took me a moment to feel the strength of [Maleficent] again,”  ANI quoted Angelina Jolie as saying.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

Angelina Jolie who starred in Maleficent fantasy adventure film 'Maleficent' will reprise her role as the villainous enchantress in the 'Maleficent: Mistress of Evil'. Maleficent is a kind-hearted fairy, who is deceived by the love of her life, Stefan. Soon, she places a curse on his daughter, Aurora, in order to avenge her thirst for justice. Besides Angelina Jolie, the cast of 'Maleficent: Mistress of Evil' also includes Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville, who appeared in the first installment, as well as franchise newcomers Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Skrein, Harris Dickinson, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
