1.  Mud

Mud is considered to be one of the best performances of Matthew McConaughey to date. The actor played the role of a murderer named Mud who is on the run in this movie directed by Jeff Nichols. This 2012 American coming-of-age drama film showed the versatility of Mud’s character who, apart from dealing with his own problems, is also a great friend to the two boys who help him reunite with his lover Juniper (Reese Witherspoon).
