If the rumours were true, it would have been the first time Clayface, along with  with Professor Pyg and Hush, would appear in a film. It is to be noted that In Christopher Nolan’s magnum opus The Dark Knight Rises, the character of Scarecrow was played on Oppenheimer actor Cilian Murphy.

The Batman was released under Gunn's reign

It has been over a year that Gunn has been in the CEO position at the DC Studios, along with Peter Safran. The two have launched many projects in the existing DCU while also supervising the launch of new DC cinematic universe. It was in their reign that Matt Reeves’ The Batman was launched. After it’s success, the film was accorded the Elseworlds label in DC projects universe, which allowed it to exist outside the continuity of their DCU.
