Avengers: Endgame actress Evangeline Lilly who recently visited India, shared an emotional anecdote on Wednesday, August 21. The actress who was spotted visiting several monuments in New Delhi back in July has been documenting her journey in the country ever since on Instagram.
Now, after returned to her homeland, Evangeline Lilly in a recent post revealed that she came to India as a 'broken woman' and has returned 'slightly more whole'. The actress who essays the role of The Wasp in the Marvel Cinematic Universe shared a monochrome picture from her India visit where she can be seen ringing a bell in what appears to be at the door of a temple.
In the long post, Evangeline Lilly, penned down her emotions about 'pain', society and western culture and said that 'it is absolutely ludicrous to think we can eradicate pain through law'.
"I went to India a broken woman and have come back ever so slightly more whole. If I can reflect one thing back at our broken society it’s that it is absolutely ludicrous to think we can eradicate pain through law. We must learn to be bedmates with our pain if we can ever hope to diminish its power over us," Evangeline Lilly wrote in the post.
The Wasp further talked about how western society obsessively wants to run from pain, which eventually becomes the root cause of their intense suffering.
"We pick enemies, places to put our pain, and then “fight” them - people, groups, dis-eases, mental afflictions - and all this “fighting” only further hurts us," Evangeline Lilly wrote further.
"We pick “causes” to get behind - environmental, humanitarian, political, economic, professional, personal - and then bury our pain in those, and burn ourselves out in the effort. I have done all of this. I want to “be with”. I want to “move through”. I want to become the wisdom I spout," the 'Avengers: Endgame' actress concluded her post as saying.
