In an interview with a leading entertainment portal, Jessica revealed her preference for maintaining a distance from the entertainment world. She said that she likes to think more about the time spends with her kids as it means a lot for her kids and they feel surrounded in a very good way. The actor also opened up about her work as she wants to leave a legacy for her kids by picking different kinds of roles in movies and TV series. All of her work and legacy will have a particular kind of impact on her kids and Jessica often thinks of it, she added on. The actor prefers to stay with her kids on the usual days which also makes her feel good about their family bond. The actor has also founded an American consumer goods company by the name of The Honest Company. It mostly focuses on household goods like baby and beauty products. It also offers a range of 17 skincare products and has reportedly earned a good share of profit in the market.

Jessica is presently portraying the role of Nancy Mckenna in the cop-drama series L.A.'s finest. The actor is receiving lots of praise for her portrayal by critics and as well as her fans. She is also the executive producer of the show. The TV series also features Gabrielle Union, Duane Martin, Zach Gilford, Ryan McPartlin, Sophie Reynolds and Earnie Hudson. The second season of the show which will be premiered in the year 2020. The show is produced under the banners of Sony Pictures Television.
