The 2017 superhero film Justice League reportedly went through a very troubled production. Director Zack Snyder had to step down from the project due to a family tragedy and director joss Whedon was hired to complete the film. But, the film was reportedly shifted to a lighter tone and colour grading including several rewrites by Joss Whedon who previously helmed two Avengers films. After going through extensive reshoots, the film's budget inflated up to $300 million which is still one of the highest production budgets for a Hollywood film.
What is The Snyder Cut?
Justice League opened to a negative reception by critics and fans alike with a rotten tomato score of 40%. Even after two years of its initial release, fans wish to see the original version crafted by director Zack Snyder. The original runtime of Justice League was reported to be three and a half hours long, the film was 90% complete with few CGI shots left to render. But, Warner Bros. production reportedly mandated the film to be two hours long only when Joss Whedon came aboard. The Snyder Cut of Justice League reportedly featured the dark tone which was set by Zack Snyder with Batman v Superman back in 2016. The film apparently did not consist of humour and was slow-paced. It was also the first part of a two-parter series, which was later cut down to be only a one film outing for iconic characters like Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman together on-screen. the cast of the film including Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa have spoken up about the Snyder Cut of Justice League.
