Ever since the tragic death of singer Liam Payne, fans of the One Direction band, comprising Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan, have eagerly awaited a reunion to honour their bandmate with a musical tribute. A recent report has now put an end to these speculations.

Will One Direction members perform at Liam Payne's funeral?

According to RadarOnline, the bandmates are set to reunite in grief, gathering together for the first time since their split at Liam's funeral.

There is speculation that they may perform a tribute during the service inspired by Elton John's heartfelt "Candle in the Wind" tribute at Princess Diana’s funeral. However, as an insider shared, they have yet to confirm any plans for a musical farewell and may simply join the congregation in paying respects.

The funeral is expected on Friday, Nov 8, in Liam's hometown of Wolverhampton in the West Midlands.

Rumours have also surfaced about a possible brief reunion tour featuring Zayn, Harry, Niall, and Louis, fuelled by Zayn’s recent posts featuring 1D songs in the background. According to an insider, “The members will likely do something to celebrate his life and honour him. A full tour seems unlikely, but a show or a new song could be on the cards.”

How did Liam Payne pass away?

Liam Payne passed away on October 16 after reportedly falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires' Palermo district. His father traveled to Buenos Aires to identify his body and gather his belongings. 

The autopsy confirmed his death was due to multiple injuries from the fall, and a preliminary toxicology report showed traces of substances. Liam had been in South America to support Niall on his tour for his third studio album, The Show.
