Meet Dogpool, 'Britain's Ugliest Dog' And Deadpool's Sidekick In Deadpool & Wolverine

The lead of the latest Deadpool film, Deadpool & Wolverine, may surprise those expecting a typical Marvel star. Marvel Studios has cast Peggy, a former winner of Britain's Ugliest Dog contest, as Dogpool in the upcoming action film. This year, she is also gracing the red carpet alongside cast members Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, with their pics going viral on social media.

Who is Peggy?

Peggy is a lovable Pug-Chinese Crested mix and her journey to stardom began when she was adopted by the Middleton family five years ago. She was the smallest and last chosen in her litter due to her unique looks. But her charm won over her family.

In late 2022, Middleton entered Peggy into ParrotPrint's Britain's Ugliest Dog contest at the recommendation of friends. Although Middleton sees Peggy as beautiful, she understands that others may find Peggy's appearance unusual and isn't offended by it. Peggy won the contest and quickly became famous after appearing on BBC Breakfast, ITV's This Morning, BBC Radio Five Live, and other media outlets.

New, but still a natural

Despite being a newcomer to acting, Peggy proved to be a natural on set. She may not have had any experience in front of the camera, but she stole the show with her adorable antics and charming personality. Three days ago, the official Instagram account of Deadpool & Wolverine movie shared clips from the London premiere of the film. Peggy joined the cast on the red carpet, dressed in her Dogpool costume. 

She walked the carpet and took the stage with her fellow actors.
