Olivia Munn Takes A Strong Moral Stand And Refused To Work With Steven Wilder Striegel

Hollywood actress Olivia Munn raised her voice against the inclusion of a registered sex offender in her upcoming sci-fi movie 'The Predator'. The actress has reportedly refused to work with actor Steven Wilder Striegel who have been charged with several cases of sexual abuse.

Hollywood actress Olivia Munn raised her voice against the inclusion of a registered sex offender in her upcoming sci-fi movie 'The Predator'. As per reports, Munn spoke up against actor Steven Wilder Striegel, who was cast in the film for a scene opposite Munn. Striegel has a record of being charged with several cases of sexual abuse. He was featured in the role of a jogger who flirted with Munn's character in the film. However, Munn who was not comfortable working against a registered sex offender and thus refused to share the screen with him.  

As per reports, Striegel was arrested in 2009 and had pleaded guilty in 2010 for alleged sexual harassment of a minor. He was said to have harassed a 14-year-old girl, who happened to be his niece and was behind the bars for about six months for the same.

Munn, who came to know about Striegel's previous record of ill-treating women in August 2018, took to Instagram and said she cannot be comfortable with something wrong just because everyone else is comfortable with it. She shared a picture which read, "Wrong is wrong even if everyone is doing it and right is right even if no one is doing it."

She captioned the image drawing reference to what her mother used to tell her and stated, "My mom taught me to never be afraid to stand up and say “Wait, that’s not okay.” Even if you find yourself standing alone, speak up. Even if people get mad at you, speak up. It is not our job to stay silent so that others can stay comfortable. Use your voice to shape the world or others will continue to shape it for us."

The actor's strong stand against what is morally incorrect has impressed the netizens. The post has received over 50 thousand likes since it was posted. This is not the first time, Munn has taken a strong stand against sexual abuse. Previously, she spoke up against film producer and director Brett Ratner who reportedly in November 2017 harassed a 19-year-old model. 

What's next for Olivia Munn

On the work front, Munn is currently shooting for Shane Black's 'The Predator' which also stars Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Thomas Jane, Alfie Allen and Sterling K. Brown. The film is all set to hit the theatres on September 14.
