In the Amazon series Fleabag, Phoebe Waller-Bridge depicts a character who speaks directly to the camera, between her dialogues, about her inner thoughts. The unique quality of the series is the cinematography along with the storytelling and, of course, Phoebe's acting. In the two-seasons old series, Phoebe's character says the unspeakable, does the undoable and defies every stereotype of feminine behaviour.

Victory at the Emmy Awards

Last month, Phoebe won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her show Fleabag. The series also won in the Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Comedy Series category. Fleabag is an amusing yet painful comedy which traces the journey of its titular character through life and love, and how she bravely attempts to cope with tragedies in her life.
