Rocker Ric's time as a Singer

Ric Ocasek and his band attained fame with their self-titled hit album in 1978, which included hits like 'My Best Friends Girl' and 'Just What I Needed.' According to reports, Erik Adams who is an AV Club Music critic wrote in a 2018 article: 'his band gave 6 record labels from 1978 to 1987 five of which were good-to-great. Then there was 'The Cars', the kind of band that put out a stellar debut record and then had the gumption not to pack after that. In 1984, Ric and his band won MTV's 'Video of the Year' for the hit song 'You Might Think.'

After a sabbatical, the band reunited in 2011 and released an album titled 'Movie Like This.' It was the band's first and sole album without late-Bassist Benjamin Orr who passed away in 2000. Ric Ocasek and his wife recently divorced in 2018, the couple were together for 28 years.
