American singer, actress, and executive producer Selena Gomez who once dated Canadian singer-songwriter and actor Justin Bieber is better off without him, said a source to a US weekly. The revelation comes after Justin Bieber recently got married to Hailey Baldwin on September 30. The source added that Selena is now open to dating and has moved on. Selena has been away from the media and spending time with her family to avoid overwhelming questions during the period, the source said.

"She is in a good place. She has been hanging out with old friends and family and keeping herself out of the limelight and away from public places where she might feel bombarded or overwhelmed," said the source to a US weekly.

Selena's tumultuous relationship with Bieber

Gomez and Justin Bieber had started dating in December 2010. They later separated in November 2012, reconciling a few weeks later only to split up again in January 2013. The relationship went on and off for a few months in each of 2013, 2014, and 2015. Later in 2017, it was reported that they had gotten back together again. However, they finally broke up again in March 2018. Selena had to seek help for stress and anxiety at that time, but is in a better place now, said the aforementioned source. As far as dating again is concerned, the source said that the singer is "open" to the idea, but it is not her priority.

"Selena knows she's better off without Justin, and that it's the healthiest decision for her. She is open to dating, but right now she is solely focused on herself and enjoying life to the best of her ability, and getting back to being the Selena that she and all of her close ones knew prior to dating Justin," the source said.

Bieber's marriage to Hailey Baldwin

Justin Bieber was engaged to the American model and television personality Hailey Baldwin on July 7, 2018. There were reports of them briefly dating from December 2015 to January 2016 before splitting, then reconciling in May 2018. The couple reportedly got a marriage license in September 2018, leading to reports that they had a civil marriage, with a religious ceremony coming shortly. Baldwin stated on Twitter that she and Bieber had not yet married, but deleted the tweet afterward On September 14. Later on November 23, 2018, Bieber stated to the media that he was married to Baldwin. Bieber and Baldwin had an official marriage ceremony in Bluffton, South Carolina on September 30.
