The Lion King 1½ (2004)

This musical animated movie is a spinoff of The Lion King, featuring the entertaining characters Timon and Pumbaa. The plot follows Timon, who leaves his colony feeling like a misfit. He soon meets the lonely Pumbaa, and together they go on various adventures in search of a new home. 

Along the way, they share their story, which began before they met Simba. The movie became popular dialogue because of the phrase ‘Hakuna Matata’, which means no worries.

The Lion King (2019 live-action remake)

The most recent The Lion King movie is the live-action remake of the original 1994 film The Lion King. Despite the storyline remaining the same, there have been certain changes between the original and live-action in terms of characterisation.
