Kanye West's much awaited studio album stands delayed yet again. This comes amid several controversies plaguing the rapper, one being his 'racist' attire.
Kanye West is on the cusp of releasing his next studio album, Vultures. Vultures was slated for a late December release with a niche listening part also having been hosted for the album by the American rapper and singer-songwriter. The studio album's release now officially stands delayed to next year. This comes amid a controversy sparked by the singer with his choice of attire at the aforementioned listening party.
Kanye West's Vultures delayed to 2024
Kanye West's next much-anticipated studio album, Vultures, will now be releasing in 2024. The album, a collaboration between West and Ty Dolla Sign is reportedly eyeing a release in January itself. As per a Revolt report, the exact date is set at January 12.
Vultures was initially scheduled to release on December 15, post which there were rumours of it being deferred to December 31. The rumoured reason behind the delay is reportedly Nicki Minaj's refusal to clear her verse on song New Body, citing age-related concerns. Another issue plaguing the album is a clash over the Backstreet Boys’ Everybody sample.
The listening party controversy
Ahead of the album's initial release date, Kanye West had held a niche listening part in Miami. However, his choice of attire attracted the wrong kind of attention being deemed by most as 'racist'. A sper a Mirror UK report, the internet was largely of the opinion that West's all-black hoodie with eye hole cutouts was a dead ringer for the shrouds of white supremist groups like the Ku Klux Klan.
West has also previously come under fire for dressing daughter North West in a similar all-white number from his unreleased Season 9 Yeezy drop.
