It’s official! The Spice Girls are coming back together in 2019. The all-girl pop band, that was a rage in the ‘90s as much for their foot-tapping music as much as their style, have announced a reunion tour that will take place in 2019 in the United Kingdom. The first concert will take place at the Manchester Etihad Stadium on June 1 and conclude at the Wembley Stadium on 15 June, 2019. This will be the band’s first tour after a performance at the 2012 London Olympics.

Melanie Brown ('Scary Spice'), Melanie Chisholm ('Sporty Spice'), Emma Bunton ('Baby Spice'), Geri Halliwell ('Ginger Spice') will represent Spice Girls at the tour, but Victoria Beckham ('Posh Spice') won’t be joining them. Victoria, who has established her fashion label in the past few years, reportedly cited ‘business commitments’ for not being able to make it for the tour. She, however, took to Instagram to call the announcement a ‘special day’. Victoria called her journey with the band ‘hugely important part’ of her life and wished them ‘love and fun’ for their venture. She expressed her confidence that Spice Girls will churn out an ‘amazing show’ for the ‘fantastic fans, past and present’.

Spice Girls had shot to fame with the chart-buster album ‘Wannabe’ in 1996. The girl band split in 1998 when Geri announced she will be quitting in 1998 during the Spiceworld World Tour. The rest of the four members, however, completed the tour and later released a single ‘Goodbye’. They also launched another album ‘Forever’, their last studio album, in 2000. Since then, Spice Girls had a ‘reunion’ thrice, first for a worldwide tour and charity single 'Headlines' (Friendship Never Ends) in 2007. This was followed by a Spice Girls musical in 2010 and finally, their performance at the Summer Olympics in 2012.

Spice Girls joined Instagram recently, sharing multiple pictures from their heydays.
