Jailer Box Office Collection Day 5: Rajinikanth film to enter Rs 400 crore club worldwide

Rajinikanth’s Jailer is a certified hit. Being made on a budget of Rs 101 crore, the film has gone past the break-even point in the course of just five days. With a cameo appearance from Malayalam cinema’s Mohanlal himself, Jailer has everything going for it. Now that the Monday numbers are in, here’s how the Rajinikanth starrer faired on its fifth day at the box office.

Jailer passes the Monday test

Globally, the film is doing incredibly well. As per trade analysts Manobala Vijayabalan and Ramesh Bala, the actioner brought in Rs 49.03 crore on Monday. This is in and of itself a great collection to have on the weekends, let alone the busiest day of the week. However, its the 49.03 crore figure pales in comparison to how much the film has minted previously.

While it started off with Rs 95.78 crore on its opening day, it went on to collect Rs 56.24 crore on its second day. While its third-day collection, on Saturday, turned out to be 68.51 crores, Jailer grew to Rs 82.36 crore on Sunday. Now, the worldwide haul for Jailer stands at Rs 351.92 crore. Given its trend as well as the Independence Day holiday, Jailer is likely to breach the Rs 400 crore mark on Tuesday.

Jailer dominates the Tamil Nadu box office

Jailer has been consistently making historic gains at the Tamil Nadu box office. On its fifth day, the film minted Rs 15.70 crore. This is a significant drop from its Day 4 TN collections, which stood at Rs 31.04 crore. However, for a Monday, it is a great earn.
