Lee Sun Kyun died on December 27. Two people, former actress 'A' and entertainment establishment manager 'B,' have been accused of extorting money from him.
Lee Sun Kyun, well known for his role in Parasite, was found dead in his car in Seoul on December 27. Two individuals, former actress 'A' and entertainment establishment manager 'B,' have been accused of extorting a substantial sum from the late actor Lee Sun Kyun. The Incheon Police Narcotics Crime Investigation Division revealed charges against 'A' and 'B' for extortion, forwarding their case to the prosecution. Investigations concluded that both were separately involved in criminal activities.
What are the extortion details?
Former actress 'A' allegedly demanded 200 million KRW from Lee Sun Kyun, threatening him and ultimately extorting 50 million KRW. Despite no personal connection, 'A' made threats related to 'B' and demanded money, allkpop reported.
On the other hand, 'B' is accused of extorting 300 million KRW from Lee Sun Kyun by claiming an anonymous hacker was threatening to expose their relationship.
'A' attended a detention hearing and was subsequently arrested while accompanied by her infant. 'B' is already facing drug-related charges and is now also accused of extortion.
Both individuals met after being released from prison due to past convictions. Their relationship deteriorated over time, culminating in a confrontation where 'A' reported 'B' for drug use to the authorities.
Police suspect 'A' reported 'B' as a form of revenge after failing to extort the intended 300 million KRW from Lee Sun Kyun. This action was seen as a means to gain leverage.
