Chennai is facing the aftermath of Cyclone Michaung as heavy rainfall inundates various parts of the city. The downpour has left many individuals stranded, struggling to navigate through the flooded areas. Actress Kaniha was among those affected, sharing her predicament on her Instagram handle, stressing the necessity of evacuation. She provided visuals from her apartment, highlighting the challenging situation faced by residents.

Kaniha narrates her ordeal after getting rescued

In an Instagram post, Kaniha underscored the urgency of evacuation due to the escalating water levels, lack of power, and water supply. Her later update confirmed her successful evacuation, expressing gratitude to the rescue team for their efforts. The evacuation extended beyond her, encompassing over 150 individuals rescued from the affected community.

She wrote, "YES we Evacuated. With no power and water supply and increasing level of water we had no choice. Thanks to the rescue team and their efforts. An entire community of 150 plus people were rescued and evacuated."

Vishal's note to Chennai Mayor amid Chennai floods

Vishal questioned the Mayor of Chennai about the stormwater drain project which was supposed to prevent flooding. Vishal took to his X account and wrote a strong note saying, "Dear Ms Priya Rajan (Mayor of Chennai) and to one and all other officers of Greater Chennai Corporation including the Commissioner. Hope you all are safe and sound with your families and water especially drainage water not entering your houses, and most importantly hope you have an unconditional supply of food & electricity. Just checking as a Voter coz as Citizens living in the same city as you are, we are not in the same position. I wonder if the entire storm water drain project was meant for Singapore or Chennai (sic)?"

Aamir Khan and Vshnu Vishal rescued from floods

Cyclone Michaung wreaked havoc across the southern states of the country. Actor Aamir Khan and Tamil actor Vishnu Vishal were also stuck in the Chennai flood caused by Cyclone Michaung. Now, new pictures surfaced online where Aamir Khan was seen in a rescue boat. The pictures were shared by Vishnu on X (Formerly Twitter).

Vishnu Vishal wrote, "Thanks to the fire and rescue department in helping people like us who are stranded. Rescue operations have started in karapakkam..Saw 3 boats functioning already. Great work by TN govt in such testing times. Thanks to all the administrative people who are working relentlessly."

Actor Rahman raises issue about Chennai floods

In a conversation with Manorama Online, Malayalam actor Rahman alerted public about the severe conditions prevailing in Chennai post-Cyclone Michaung. He emphasised the substantial damage inflicted on the city, indicating the gravity of the situation. Chennai has grappled with persistent rains exacerbated by the cyclone's impact, causing flooding in lakes and subsequent opening of reservoirs. As a result, underground roads have been closed due to rising water levels, further intensifying the city's challenges.
