Malaikottai Vaaliban first single Punnara Kattile Poovan from Mohanlal's period drama out

Amid Mohanlal's hefty lineup of films, Malaikottai Vaaliban happens to be the foremost. The Lijo Jose Pellissery helmed period drama, which features Mohanlal in the lead, is eyeing a late January release. The film, well on track for release, has now released the film's first single.

Malaikottai Vaaliban's first single now out

The makers of Malaikottai Vaaliban have gone ahead and released the first single from the film. Titled Punnara Kattile Poovanatthil, the song was shared with audiences on December 15, at 5 PM. The music video gives a glimpse into the world of Malaikottai Vaaliban, particulars of which have largely been kept under wraps by the makers. Punnara Kattile Poovanatthil has been sung by Shreekumar Vakkiyil and Abhaya Hiranmayi. The composition for the song has been done by Prashant Pillai. Thel yrics have been penned by P.S. Rafeeque.

Malaikottai Vaaliban has been directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. Besides Mohanlal in the lead the film also stars Sonalee Kulkarni, Katha Nandi, Andrea Ravera and Hareesh Peradi among others. Mohanlal has himself described director Lijo Jose Pellissery as having mounted a "grand spectacle". Pellissery has also commented on how as it was Mohanlal who has inspired him to pick up direction, it was no brainer when it came to considering the lead in the film. He also shared how the story for the film is one that has been years in the making, now finally about to see the light of day. The film is slated for a theatrical release on January 25.

Mohanlal has a hefty lineup of projects

Besides Malaikottai Vaaliban, Mohanlal has seven other films in the pipeline. Next in line is legal drama Neru.

While the actor has completed filming for Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure, he is simultaneously working on Ram: Part 1, Vrushubha, Kannappa, L2: Empuraan and Ram: Part 2.
