On August 13, a poster that looked like official Prime Video announcement of Kalki 2898 AD OTT release date went going viral. This led to excitement surrounding the digital streaming update of the Prabhas starrer, which released on June 27. However, it turns out that Prime Video has made no such announcement regarding the OTT premiere of Kalki 2898 AD.

What led to rumours about Kalki 2898 AD OTT release date

A poster that looked like Prime Video's release announcement of Kalki 2898 AD streaming date started going viral on social media on August 13. However, it has come to light that is a fake poster and the streamer has not released any information regarding the pan-India film's streaming date. Fans, who got excited about the OTT premiere of the Nag Ashwin directorial will have to wait for an official update from the streamer or makers in this regard.

Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD seems to have broken the prevailing trend of films premiering on OTT in after a mandatory 4-week window. The multi-lingual release hit the big screens on June 27 and has grossed over ₹600 crore in India, according to a report in Box Office India.

About Kalki 2898 AD  

Kalki 2898 AD is a blend of Hindu epic Mahabharata and science fiction. The big-budget film is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies and was released in six languages: Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi and English. Kalki 2898 AD, mounted on a whopping budget of ₹600 crore, features Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani and Kamal Haasan. Part 2 of the film is expected to begin production in the coming time.

Previously titled Project K, the film is reportedly the most expensive feature film in Indian cinema history.
