Lift on OTT: Kevin Hart starrer heist-comedy to make its digital debut on this streaming platform

One of the highly-anticipated heist comedy movies, Lift is ready to make its digital debut. Directed by F. Gary Gray and penned by Daniel Kunka, this movie boasts a star-studded cast featuring Kevin Hart, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Vincent D'Onofrio, Úrsula Corberó, Billy Magnussen, Jacob Batalon, Jean Reno, Sam Worthington, Paul Anderson, Viveik Kalra, Kim Yoon-ji, Burn Gorman among others.

When and where to watch Lift?

Lift will start streaming on Netflix from January 12, 2024. Originally slated for August 25, 2023, Lift faced a delay in its release due to the aftermath of the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike in the United States. The film's promotional activities were impacted and resulted in the movie getting delayed.

The movie follows the gripping tale of a former master thief lured into orchestrating a seemingly impossible heist aboard a 777-passenger flight from London to Zurich. The trailer description of Lift reads, “A former master thief is enticed by both his ex-girlfriend and the FBI to orchestrate a seemingly impossible heist, collaborating with his international crew on a 777-passenger flight traveling from London to Zurich.”

American comedian and actor Kevin Hart who’s leading Lift was born on July 6, 1979 and rose to fame through stand-up comedy competitions. His journey in the spotlight took off when Judd Apatow cast him in a recurring role on the TV series Undeclared in 2001. Since then, Hart has given several memorable performances including Paper Soldiers, Scary Movie 3, Ride Along and Jumanji among others.

Recently actor Mbatha-Raw spoke to The Grio and talked about working with such an ensemble cast of Lift. She revealed, “Everybody brings such a different vibe. It’s such an international cast and all the characters have their unique eccentricities and their different dynamics and different histories which I think really lifts the movie. It’s based on character and it’s not just action, action, action.”
