Parineeti Chopra reveals she put on 15 kgs for Imtiaz Ali's Chamkila, shares clip of her gym routine

Parineeti Chopra was recently in the news for her rather intimate and guarded wedding to AAP leader Raghav Chadha. On the professional front, the actress saw through the release of the Akshay Kumar starrer Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue, shortly after her wedding to Chadha. Getting back to her professional life, Parineeti Chopra recently revealed that she had to put on 15 kilos for her role in Imtiaz Ali's Chamkila - weight which she is now painstakingly shedding.

Parineeti Chopra took to her Instagram handle to share a glimpse of her intense workout routine at the gym these days. This is all in lieu of the weight she put on to essay the role of Amarjot Chamkila, wife to Amar Singh Chamkila in the Imtiaz Ali film. The actress shared how her entire routine had become about spending time in AR Rahman's studio singing and going back home to eat junk food so she could put on the weight. Now with filming for Chamkila over, the actress is hard at work in the gym to look and feel like herself again.

Parineeti's caption read, "I spent 6 months last year singing in Rahman sir’s studio, and going back home to eat as much junk as I possibly could to put on 15 KILOS for Chamkila! (Coming soon on Netflix) Music and Food. That was my routine. Now that the film is done, the story is the opposite. I miss the studio, and work in the gym trying to look like myself again. And not like Amarjot ji! Its been hard. But anything for you Imtiaz sir! And this role Many more inches to go."

What is Chamkila about?

The Imtiaz Ali helmed Chamkila is the official biopic based on the life of the legendary Punjabi singer, Amar Singh Chamkila. He, his wife Amarjot and two other members from their band were killed on March , 1988 in a yet to be solved assassination.

While Parineeti has essayed the role of Amarjot, Diljit Dosanjh has essayed the titular role.
