Later that year, she was seen in Maja Ma where she played a homosexual character earning praise from the critics and audience. Now, the veteran actress is set to tap into another never-seen-before character in her next web series.

Madhuri Dixit to play serial killer in new web series?  

According to a report in Midday, Madhuri Dixit is set to portray the role of a serial killer in a psychological thriller helmed by Nagesh Kukunoor. The web show is titled Mrs Deshpande, which is a remake of a French series. "The show tells the story of how the police hire a serial killer and pick her brains to understand another serial killer’s modus operandi and nab him. The show is a remake of a French series," the source was quoted as saying.

When will the show go on the floors?

The source added that if everything goes as planned then the director will commence the shooting after the monsoon. Meanwhile, the casting is underway and the team is "excited" to present Madhuri in a "dark role".

Who is Nagesh Kukunoor?

The filmmaker is known for directing a segment in the Prime Video anthology Modern Love Hyderabad. He has also directed Hotstar's City of Dreams, starring Atul Kulkarni, Priya Bapat, Sachin Pilgaonkar and Eijaz Khan. Apart from web shows, he is known for giving iconic movies to Bollywood, including Dor, Iqbal, Aashayein, Dhanak and Lakshmi.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, she has a special dance face-off with Vidya Balan in Kartik Aaryan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. They will be dancing to the fresh rendition of Ami Je Tomar. Co-starring Triptii Dimri, the movie is expected to hit the theatres this Diwali.
