Mirzapur is one of the most awaited shows of the year. The third season of the show will premiere on July 5. Ahead of the release, the makers have released the much-anticipated trailer. Set in India’s hinterland, the Mirzapur franchise has captivated millions with its gripping saga of power, revenge, ambition, politics, betrayal, deceit, and intricate family dynamics.

Mirzapur trailer highlights revenge, gore, drama

The trailer for the upcoming season of the fan-favourite streaming series Mirzapur was unveiled on Thursday, June 20. The trailer highlights the battle for control over the Purvanchal region, with the town of Mirzapur as the epicentre of power. It shows Ali Fazal's character, Guddu, breaking down the statue of Pankaj Tripathi's character, Kaleen Bhaiyya, at a busy intersection in the titular city as he announces, "Kaleen Bhaiyya gone, Guddu Pandit on."

The fight becomes fierce, with different contenders eyeing the seat as they play politics and carry out violence to tip the scales in their favour. Like previous seasons, the series this time around is going to have innovative ways of murder and killing as per the trailer. The show also stars Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Rasika Dugal, Vijay Varma, Isha Talwar, Anjumm Shharma, Priyanshu Painyuli, Harshita Shekhar Gaur, Rajesh Tailang, Sheeba Chadha, Meghna Malik, and Manu Rishi Chadha.

Will Munna Tripathi’s character return in Mirzapur 3?

Much ahead of the show’s release in March this year, producer Ritesh Sidhwani was questioned about the likelihood of seeing Divyenndu's character Munna Tripathi in Mirzapur Season 3 at the Film Companion Front Row. It looked like a faraway fantasy at first after the character's death in the previous season but Sidhwani's response excited fans.

The producer said, “Unfortunately, Munna Tripathi can't come back into the series the way it is. But maybe something is interesting for which you will have to wait, but there is something where Munna will enter back into audiences' lives.”

Set in Mirzapur, the series follows the formidable Akhandanand Tripathi, also known as Kaleen Bhaiya, and his power-hungry son Munna. Their world collides with that of Ramakant Pandit, an upright lawyer, and his sons Guddu and Bablu, resulting in a chain of events that tests loyalties and fuels rivalries.
