The audio launch of Rajinikanth's Jailer was held on Friday, July 28. It proved to be a star-studded affair, which was attended by big names for the industry. Speaking at the event, the Enthiran star opened up about his past battles with alcholism.

Rajinikanth reflects on past struggles with alcoholism
The veteran actor called alcoholism the "biggest mistake" of his life. He revealed that if there had been no alcohol, he would have in all probability ended up serving society. Rajinikanth also gave some interesting advice to his fans about alcohol consumption. Rajinikanth did not ask them to completely abstain from alcohol. He, instead, asked them to enjoy it every time they consumed it. However, what they needed to control, was the frequency of their consumption. He warned his fans how daily consumption of alcohol can not only ruin health, but also destroy one's happiness.

Rajinikanth gets candid at Jailer's audio launch
Besides his experience with alcoholism, the actor also got candid about a few other things. Rajinikanth revealed how he had the word 'superstar' removed from the song Hukum. He also shared how he chose to retain director Nelson for the film despite distributors for Jailer being jittery about having the former on board especially after Thalapathy Vijay's Beast received poor reviews.
