Amaran Box Office Day 3: The biographical action drama featuring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi hit the big screen on Diwali , October 1. Positive word of mouth, stellar star cast and festive season gave the film helped the film register a good business at the box office. Days after release, the movie trumped all other regional releases on Diwali .
Amaran registers phenomenal growth on day 3
Amaran is based on the real-life story of Major Mukund Varadarajan, a recipient of Ashok Chakra. The film opened to largely positive reviews and that has translated to the box office collections as well. The movie earned ₹21.25 crore net in India on day 1, as per Sacnilk. It became Sivakarthikeyan's career-best opener.
On the second day of release, the movie raked in ₹ 19.25 Crore, as per early estimates by Sacnilk. The movie registered a positive jump and minted ₹ 21.4 Cr on day 3. The Sai Pallavi starrer has now amassed a total of ₹ 61.95 Crore in India. Amaran was released in Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, but raked in most business from the Tamil version.
Amaran emerges victor in Diwali clash with KA, Lucky Bhaskhar, Bagheera
Amaran was released alongside Lucky Bhaskhar and KA in Telugu and Bagheera in Kannada. While the three films moved at a slow pace, Amaran seems to be the first choice of cinema-goers on the Diwali weekend.
Kiran Abbavaram starrer KA has amassed a total of ₹ 10.55 Cr in the three-day theatrical run. Dulquer Salmaan's Lucky Bhaskhar minted ₹ 7.50 Cr on day 3, taking the film's total to₹ 21.40 Cr. Kannada movie Bagheera has been able to amass a total of ₹ 9.85 Cr, as per Sacnilk. The extended Diwali holiday and weekend are likely to aid the business of all the movies and give an extra boost to Amaran.
