Amaran Box Office Day 9: After Vettaiyan, GOAT, Sivakarthikeyan's Film To Breach ₹200 Crore Mark

Amaran Box Office Collection: The Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi starrer has been pulling audiences to houseful theatre ever since its release. The Tamil movie has continued its dream box office run in the second week as well. Based on a real-life event, the war drama is on track to mint ₹200 crore at the domestic box office.

Amaran box office collections inches closer to ₹200 crore 

Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi‘s biographical action war drama was released in the theatres on October 31 coinciding with Diwali . The movie is based on the real-life story of Major Mukund Varadarajan, a recipient of Ashok Chakra. The film opened to largely positive reviews and that has translated to the box office collections as well.

Amaran, helmed by Rajkumar Periasamy smashed the box office records in Tamil Nadu on its opening day. The movie earned ₹21.25 crore net in India on day 1, as per Sacnilk. It became Sivakarthikeyan's career-best opener. The film entered the second week of release with ₹5.75 crore on day 8. On the second Friday of release, the Sai Pallavi starrer raked in ₹7.4 crore, as per Sacnilk. The film has amassed a total of ₹ 122.25 Cr.

Amaran trumps all regional Diwali releases

Amaran was released alongside Lucky Bhaskar and KA in Telugu and Bagheera in Kannada. While all three films moved at a slow pace, Amaran seems to be the first choice of cinema-goers on the Diwali weekend. The Sai Pallavi starrer was also released in Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, but raked in most business from the Tamil version.

Kiran Abbavaram starrer KA has amassed a total of  â‚¹ 19.85 Cr in the nine-day theatrical run. Dulquer Salmaan's Lucky Baskhar minted ₹43.85 Cr. Kannada movie Bagheera has been able to amass a total of ₹ 17.03 Cr, as per Sacnilk.
