Disha Patani Was In Kanguva To 'Look Pretty': Producer's Wife's Remarks Draw Criticism Amid Poor Run

Suriya starrer Kanguva released in theatres on November 14. The film opened to good reviews and the social media users also shared their viewpoint. After the release of Kanguva, the film has faced several controversies. Recently, the film producer’s wife made remarks which has not gone down well with the netizens.
What did Kanguva producer’s wife say?
Kanguva’s producer K E Gnanavel Raja’s wife Neha Gnanavel gave her opinion on the film. She also said that Disha Patani’s role as Angela was to only look pretty. Neha took to X and wrote, “Because Angela’s characters is not the whole movie Kanguva is about!!! Angela can’t be in 2.5 hours of film !!! Basic, so yes, she was there to look pretty!!! It’s one brain and perspective (director) presenting to crores of audiences! We Welcome criticism not targeted propaganda!!”.
Netizens took to comment section and gave their piece of opinion. One user wrote, “Damn, the entire Kanguva team is not able to take the failure and is in breakdown it seems”. Another user wrote, “Someone say her to stop man, she is doing more damage to the film than any of the critics and audience did”. “She is saying "know your limits" and "you're no one to give criticisms". So does she magically expect people to watch the film and make it a blockbuster after her attacking the audience and fans? Won't this basically be career suicide? What is she even thinking? thought Gnanavel Raja is like this. It's crazy how the wife is the same.”, wrote the third user.
Kanguva’s box office collection
Kanguva has performed well on it’s first 4 days at the box office and has earned ₹54.18 crore in India. On fifth day, the film has earned ₹0.9 crore. The total collection of Kanguva now stands at ₹55.08 crore. Kanguva had an overall 11.54% Tamil Occupancy on Monday, November 18.
The highest has been recored at Pondicherry (29%), Chennai (18%), Bengaluru (10%), Dindigul (11%), Trichy (10%), Mumbai (5) and National Capital (13%).
